2018 fashion week London

New York, London, Milan, and Paris are gearing up and getting ready for their Fashion Month contributions. The designers for London Fashion Week are creating, tweaking, re-creating, and finalizing their masterpieces that are sure to be flabbergasting and astounding. The Big 4 are ready to hit the runways with their four back to back fashion weeks kicking off with the Big Apple, going into Big Ben’s home, before hitting the Fashion Capital and ending with a bang in the City of Lights.

It’s clear that the winds of style are changing, especially when designers like Victoria Beckham acknowledge the change, “When I started out in fashion, everything had to be structured, tight and controlling. And, now, I’m at a point where I think – I could wear a great big parka [windproof jacket], that could be quite fabulous. I haven’t always got to show off my size, show off my shape. It’s a turning point for me.”

There aren’t any fashionistas that can contain their excitement as this time draws nearer, which begs the question, where did it all begin? How did New York, London, Milan, and Paris come to have their own Fashion Weeks?

London’s Fashion Week is the youngest of the four at the age of 35. The British Fashion Council [BFC] along with the London Development Agency [LDA] and Department for Business, Innovation, and Skills [BIS} in October of 1983.

But, unlike the other Fashion Weeks, this retail-focused event doesn’t end when all the designers have had their say on the runway. The London Fashion Week Festival [LFWF] kicks off right after with a 4-day event that is open to the public. This is when consumers get the chance to buy the designs that sparks their interest as they walk the catwalk.

That was then, but here we are in 2018 in the run-up to the Spring/Summer collection, anxiously waiting to see what these designers have in store!

Jetex, always completing your journey!

Flight is a beautiful thing, but what decides whether a trip is a sheer perfection or a terrible experience isn’t just the time spent whipping through the clouds. The result of a perfect or awful flight is decided by everything leading up to boarding the aircraft and everything that happens after landing.

The world of aviation is always developing, always changing, always evolving, and always building new collaborations.

Strong, studied collaborations are vital to creating a perfect journey. The newest and exciting venture Jetex will be making is to work with National Jets. An FBO based at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport [IATA: FLL, ICAO: KFLL] in the Broward County, Florida.

National Jets was established in 1947 with the aim of providing aviation excellence. The founders began by chartering modified vintage aircrafts for executive transport. Streamline to 2018, and the company is proud to be ARG/US “Gold” safety-rated and still chartering flights for executives. National Jets has unrivaled operational knowledge for trips traveling within North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean by learning through daily repetition with the capability to handle large groups.

National Jets also provides its customers with a spacious and luxurious FBO for relaxing in while their aircraft gets fueled for the journey to come, or while it gets a check-up by the company’s experienced technicians. Customers can rest assured that they will embark on a safe and secure journey with Bombardier and Embraer MROs [maintenance, repair, and overhaul organizations] not too far from the FBO.

This company already has an extensive and impressive portfolio. Merging that portfolio with Jetex’s high standards, excellence, and strive for perfection will only create a momentous change in executive travel flying between the Americas.

Labace 2018

LABACE 2019 São Paulo

LABACE 2019, the annual Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition will take place on August 13th – 15th. Part of the NBAA partnership of trade shows, the event attracts local business and international companies. The final countdown to the largest Latin American business aviation event – LABACE Brazil – has started, we look forward to seeing you there.

LABACE, The Leading Business Aviation Event in Latin America

LABACE turns 17-years-old this year. In its 17 years and 16 shows, the event has attracted over 1,830 exhibitors that have exhibited over 650 aircraft for over 145,000 visitors.

As usual, the LABACE location will be at the Congonhas Airport in São Paulo, Brazil. The show will attract the world’s biggest names in aviation, like Dassault Falcon, Garmin, Bombardier, and, of course, Jetex – where we look forward to meeting with industry professionals and discussing how our GATGRU terminal can serve you.

LABACE, Uniting the Community

This event gives the exhibitors the opportunity to connect with their audience while teaching them about the latest developments happening in the world of aviation. Local and International companies participate, alongside manufacturers, operators, maintenance shops, interior finishers, equipment providers, and airport builders, developers.

LABACE is part of the NBAA, the National Business Aviation Association and joins 4 other annual business aviation events: ABACE held in Asia, EBACE in Europe and NBAA BACE in the USA.

Visitors will get the chance to check out the latest aircraft to hit the market in the static area, which is located on the airport’s auxiliary ramp space. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the stands that are in the chalet villages.

Delegates will have the opportunity to attend a number of seminars and discussions that cover a wide range of topics. Those attending any of the seminars can expect lively and constructive sessions, as the top industry representatives talk about the critical issues and will lay out the foundations for the future of business aviation expected in the region.

At LABACE 2018 discussions covered a range of topics including ‘gray charter’, general aviation’s’ importance in Brazil and growing support for regional airports. The event highlighted the importance of regulations to fight piracy linked to gray market charters as well as irregular maintenance and import and sale of parts. Brazil’s General Aviation market is important to the nation – not only does it represent 92% of the country’s total aircraft fleet, it also helps to connect remote communities that commercial airlines can not. To help get smaller airports operational faster, the Brazilian governments has made regulatory changes in order to make operations cheaper and openings faster, an important provision for the Brazilian economy.

LABACE 2019 Schedule

The LABACE 2019 schedule will be available to view at the event website. When more details of the 2019 event are released, we will update this post accordingly.

Jetex is proud to have built up a strong presence in Latin America, with FBO’s in Santiago, Chile, Toluca, Mexico and Sao Paulo, Brazil. We have become regulars with our instantly recognizable booth at LABACE, the region’s biggest gathering for the business aviation community.  Our team looks forward to meeting you at this must-attend event and discussing how you can benefit from the broad range of services that we provide, including our location in association with GATGRU.

Whether you fly your jet or need a charter, we have you covered! Our Trip Planning team will get everything set and ready for you to go, from the permits and permissions for departure and arrival, NOTAMs and transportation. All flights traveling to Brazil will need to have these documents ready:

  • The Landing Permit
  • Pilot in Command [PIC]
  • Second in Command [SIC]
  • First Class Medicals & Type Ratings
  • Worldwide Insurance Certificate [including 3rd party liability clause of behalf of the operator]
  • Full Flight Schedule
  • Details on Purpose of Flight
  • Operations Specifications [D085 & B050] – for Charter
  • Aircraft Operator Certificate [AOC] or Air Carrier Certificate [ACC] – for Charter
  • Valid Passports for Passengers and Crew
  • Passenger Visas [Certain Nationalities]
  • Crew Visas [if staying in Brazil longer than 10 days]
  • Pilot’s Licenses
  • General Declaration [GenDec]

LABACE, Taxiing Options

The event takes place at the Congonhas Airport [IATA: CGH, ICAO: SBSP], São Paulo’s domestic-only airport, which is why this airport cannot serve as an Airport of Entry [AoE]. For this reason, the most convenient option for visitors traveling to the event to taxi into Guarulhos International Airport [IATA: GRU, ICAO: SBGR].

This airport operates 24-hours a day and offers a full range of ground handling services. The only thing to keep in mind is that, typically, aircraft parking is limited to 48-hours with a PPR [Prior Permission Required], and extensions are difficult to come by because of the airport’s traffic.

SBGR is not the only option, other airports work as an entry point. Alternate airports include Campinas International Airport [IATA: VCP, ICAO: SBKP], Manaus International Airport [IATA: MAO, ICAO: SBEG], or Recife International Airport [IATA: REC, ICAO: SBRF].

Ready to take-off to LABACE?

Jetex can take you there! Let us know what your plans are for traveling to LABACE 2019 in São Paulo and we can take the reins from there. Flight is a beautiful thing. It takes you from one place to the next through clouds, rain, snow, and sunshine.

When Jetex was created, it was created to fill a gap. There were only a handful of companies that provided Trip Planning and FBO Services, this is why Jetex came to be.

Because of hard work and dedication, Jetex, now, stands amongst one of the few companies in the world that offers Trip Planning along with Fixed Based Operators.

When the company started, it did not provide the intended services. One thing had to be studied and mastered before moving on to the other. For this reason, the company started out as a Trip Planning company in late 2005.

It goes without saying that to achieve a perfect flight – then it needs to be organized to the highest of standards. For this to happen, then you need to be able to rely on the people that you wouldn’t often think of.

Take a moment to think of the best flight you have taken – what or who do you think of?

Paris FBO Ops

The pilot, the co-pilot, the crew, and maybe the catering. However, most people wouldn’t think of the schedulers, the planners, and the dispatchers, the people that are behind the scenes, organizing, arranging, planning, and running all the checks to make sure everything is going to happen according to well-practiced plan and without a single hitch.

Every person involved in a flight is essential, but without these people setting the tracks and establishing the foundation of the trip, then a flight is just incomplete. Trip Planning isn’t just about crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s. It’s about knowing what your customer needs, and keeping your promise to meet those needs. Because, if the customer could get this done themselves, then why would they need us?

The Jetex team had created a detailed checklist that would get a trip planned and executed to perfection. It was now time to attach the next puzzle piece that would complete what was envisioned for the company – a company that could handle a trip from A to Z.

Paris FBO Exterior

Le Bourget FBO, Paris [Opened in 2009]

The first Jetex FBO opened in 2009, in Le Bourget, Paris. This was the piece that would make sure that Jetex would be able to fulfill its high standard from beginning to end. An FBO – fixed-base operator – consists of ground handling and a comfortable lounge for guests and crew. This meant that we could ensure that our customers and crew started their journey in a welcoming space surrounded by hospitable staff, while their aircraft is made ready for take-off.

Obviously, it wasn’t always a smooth journey. We have received complaints in the early hours of the morning. We have also gotten phone calls thanking the team for going above and beyond. It is because as a company we learn and adapt. That is why Jetex has continued to grow exponentially and continues to develop more innovative puzzle pieces to create a better painted bigger picture, like the GTM – Global Trip Manager – system. This system ensures that our clients have access to everything they need online. They can access trip possibilities, trip estimations, and more without having to send email after email, and without having to worry about possible human error.

Jetex, always completing your journey!
Dubai FBO DWC Exterior

Going back to the 1990s, there were grains of sand waiting for innovation and ambition to create a great city that would become home to the tallest, the biggest, the fastest, and the best, all while having an incredible skyline – this is Dubai!

Now, everyone knows Dubai. There are plenty of people that are itching to visit the land that homes the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa, and see the world’s biggest fountain show that sits just outside the world’s largest mall, the Dubai Mall.

The city is quick-paced and always changing, so it is expected that its main airport Dubai International Airport [DXB] is busy keeping up with the constant growth. DXB is the world’s busiest airport when it comes to international passenger traffic, Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 movements, and all this while operating only two runways.

It is apparent why people would be packing their bags to head to this multi-cultural city. It is also apparent why people would want to avoid the world’s busiest airport, especially when they can fly into the VIP Terminal at the Al Maktoum International Airport [DWC] and be streamlined through a luxurious FBO.

Bigger, Better, Grandeur

We expanded our Dubai FBO in 2017, from about 10,000-ft2 [~950-m2] to 16,000-ft[~1,500m2]. This expansion took place to provide our customers and crew with a more comfortable and spacious experience.

For the leisure travelers using our FBO’s facilities, they can kick back in our entertainment area, rest up in one of our Metronaps, take advantage of our massage chairs, or take part in a friendly game of pool. Travelers passing through our Dubai FBO can also enjoy shaking out their legs on the exercise bikes, challenge their minds with a game of chess, or reflect while playing the piano.

For the business travelers, the same amenities are also at their disposal, with the added benefit of making use out of our equipped Boardroom for any of their meeting needs, online or offline.

Our customers will always feel at home at our Dubai FBO, we offer them with a warm welcoming while providing them with many services:

  • Obtaining Overflight Permits
  • Flight Planning
  • Entry & Landing Permits
  • Ground Handling
  • Passenger & Crew Transportation
  • Passenger & Crew Visa Arrangements
  • Passenger & Crew Passport Clearance
  • Passenger & Crew Baggage Clearance
  • Concierge Services
  • In-flight Catering
  • Aircraft Cleaning & Detailing
  • Executive Lounge
  • Crew Lounge
  • Meeting Rooms
  • Multilingual & Multicultural Understanding Staff
  • Long-term Car Parking Facilities
  • Security Services
  • Arrival & Departure Slots
  • Walk-In Shower Facilities
  • Cigar Lounge
  • Duty Free
  • Kids Corner

An Unbeatable Location

Getting around this star city can sometimes be confusing, but we can get you where you want to go. Landing at our FBO means traveling to the different parts of the city without having to deal with traffic. Skiing in the desert at the Mall of the Emirates is only a 35-minute drive away. Heading to downtown Dubai to watch the fountain show and admire the magnificence of Burj Khalifa is just a 45-minute car ride. Or take an hour’s drive to head to the UAE’s capital and visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

For Your Aircraft

Al Maktoum International Airport [DWC] has one of the most advanced runways and taxiways that has no restrictions and can accommodate various types of aircrafts – every pilot’s dream! Parking the aircraft so close to the FBO means being streamlined through the immigration process to continue the rest of your journey.

Permits

Landing permits are mandatory for all private and charter flights flying into Dubai. Permits can be acquired within six hours. However, our team will arrange for everything so that our clients can focus on other things that need their attention.

Do you need a slot?

Yes, slots are required at this location but are readily available.

Chile Santiago FBO

Resting in the Santiago basin – a valley shaped like a bowl – is the capital city of Chile, Santiago.

This growing city was founded by the Pedro de Valdivia, a Spanish Conquistador, conqueror, as the City of Santiago del Nuevo Extremo in 1541. Many people walking through the busy city will notice the city’s cultural and musical energy. Others will notice Santiago’s financial liveliness because of many multinational corporations having their regional headquarters in this bustling city. And other people will see that the city is very reminiscent to its Spanish history through its array of 19th-century neoclassical architecture.

It is clear why people would head to the 5th largest city on the South American continent. It is also apparent why people would avoid landing at the country’s busiest international airport at the end of the Andes mountains, Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport [IATA: SCL/ICAO: SCEL] when they can taxi into a lavish FBO instead.

Collaboration Equals Success

We run our FBO in collaboration with the local operator, Santiago FBO. Our joint venture means we provide all our customers with absolute excellence, every time. Travelers passing through will appreciate feeling comfortable and at home with our hospitable staff and personalized services:

  • Full Ground Handling
  • Onsite Immigration and Customs Clearance
  • 1,400 m2 of Hangar Space
  • Gourmet Catering
  • Fuel Uplift Services
  • Premium VIP Lounge
  • Fully Operational Flight Planning Room
  • Exceptional Concierge Services

An Unbeatable Location

Passengers staying in Santiago can quickly reach their destination with the center of the city only being a 15-minute drive away and the business center just 20-minutes away.

SCEL is a great stopping point for travelers flying into New Zealand or Australia. This is because Santiago is the gateway to all flights heading to Oceania – a geographic location that is made up of Australia, Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia. Plenty of European carriers like Alitalia or British Airways use SCEL as a stopping point from their home hub [Rome-Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport and London Heathrow Airport] to the Oceania region.

For Your Aircraft

Santiago’s airport has a 12,467-ft [3,800 meters] runway that can accommodate various types of aircrafts. Aircraft maintenance and servicing are possible at this location, but a request would have to be put through.

Permits

All flights flying into Santiago’s airport need to acquire a PPR [Prior Permission Required] and a landing permit. Our Jetex team can apply for any permits required and can arrange for a parking space for the aircraft.

Do you need a slot?

No, slots are not required.

Once upon a history, traveling took days, not hours and was difficult, but not anymore! Not with the beauty and serenity of flight.

Today, flying is our number one mode of transport and many people have been on an aircraft at least once. However, only a few of the many millions around the world have the luxury of saying they own their very own aircraft.

travel technology

It’s no surprise that the aviation industry is changing and will continually change as inventors, engineers, and innovators learn more, push boundaries more, and finally strike gold with their latest creation.

According to the “Emerging Technology in Travel Report 2018,” developed by the Sabre Corporation, a Texas-based travel technology company, the upcoming technologies to influence and improve the world of travel can be segmented into three categories:

1. Automation

The automation concept isn’t a new ideology – humans have always tried to either eliminate mundane tasks or to simplify complicated tasks as much as possible.

Technology has definitely taken this concept ten steps further than our ancestors could have ever imagined. Developments and advancements in the A.I and machine learning industry have changed the landscapes and playing fields of many trades. However, human interaction is still a necessity in the world of hospitality and travel. How could automation change travel?

We have already seen improvements in the world of virtual assistants and robotic developments from all around the world. This could mean that the world of travel is in the hands of robots and assistants that learn their customers and remember what they need and when they need it.

2. Authenticity

“Authenticity” is a keyword that gets thrown around in many meeting rooms all around the world. Every brand is looking to develop an “authentic” experience.

For a business to survive and succeed, then the organization needs to build a special relationship with its customers, a trusting relationship that the customer will always receive a genuine, from the heart service. The assumption would be that providing this kind of service calls for even more human interaction, so how can technology help to develop an authentic experience?

Augmented and Virtual Reality programs and systems have advanced at a quick rate in recent years leading to organizations developing VR/AR experiences. For example, the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal has renovated a suite to memorialize John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s second staged “Bed-in-for-Peace” and recorded the anthem “Give Peace a Chance.”

3. Blockchain

The term Blockchain is often linked to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, and other cryptocurrencies. And rightly so, Satoshi Nakamoto, a name connected to the creator or creators of Bitcoin software, developed a technology that is revolutionary!

Blockchain technology may be at the center of the digital currency world, but that tech has so much more potential outside of the digital monetary system as well. How could blockchain technology improve the travel industry?

This technology allows people to have direct transfers without having to trust each other because the transaction is stored and can easily be tracked. This means that blockchain technology can be used to execute “smart contracts.” Creating trust between customers and businesses that a dispute can be solved without hassle.

Technology is everchanging and is changing the way people interact with the world around them. It is still uncertain how technology will change the world of travel, but the times ahead are definitely exciting!

Toluca FBO Hangar

Many of us are aware that the capital of Mexico is Mexico City. However, not many of us know that the capital state of Mexico is Toluca.

Toluca, also called Toluca de Lerdo, is at the heart of a growing and expanding urban area making this area the 5th largest area in Mexico by population. The Licenciado Adolfo Mateos International Airport [IATA: TLC/ICAO: MMTO], otherwise known as the Toluca International Airport, can handle around 6 million passengers in a year.

Toluca’s International Airport has always been a primary option for General Aviation [GA] flights heading to Mexico City. MMTO is a convenient point of entry for someone headed to the nation’s capital city, which makes our Toluca FBO very strategically placed and ready to complete any journey.

Collaboration Equals Success

We run our Toluca FBO in collaboration with the local operator, EOLO PLUS, to provide our clients with nothing but excellence. Travelers passing through can enjoy Mexican artwork and sculptures displayed in the executive lounge. This facility is proud to boast its hanger space and offers visitors and crew with:

  • 24/7 operations
  • Aircraft parking
  • Airport customs and immigration from a remote position
  • Own Catering Service
  • Concierge
  • Crew accommodation arrangements
  • Crew and VIP passenger transportation
  • Crew lounge
  • Executive lounge
  • Direct ramp access

An Unbeatable Location

MMTO is recognized as a regional hub and is an ideal airport to taxi into for those that intend to head to the heart of Mexico City, which is only a thirty-minute drive away. The airport is close to more than just Mexico City with Valle de Bravo/Avandaro being one hour and twenty minutes away by car or twenty minutes by helicopter. Visitors may also like the views as they travel an hour and a half by car to get to the volcano, Nevado de Toluca National Park.

This private airport is also a great stopping point for travelers flying to South America from the United States because the aircraft can make a stop to refuel, resupply, or rest before taking off for the final set destination.

Landing in Toluca

It’s a known fact that the two hardest parts of a flight are also the essential parts of a flight – landing, and take-off. However, when flying into Toluca aircraft operators need to be aware of some other challenges. The airport is 8750-ft [2667 meters] above sea level, and the weather can sometimes be a little challenging – expect rain most of the time and expect fog in the early hours of the morning.

Certifications

Our personnel and teams are dedicated and trained to deliver a high-quality service, while meeting the highest safety standards. Because of this dedication, the Toluca FBO received both the ISBAH and the ISBAO, two international certifications by IBAC.

SENEAM Fees

SENAM fees are fees for flying into or through Mexico. These fees were implemented in 2011 by the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation. All the planes that are flying in out of the country get tracked by this agency and are expected to pay the aviation fuel uplift charge which is inclusive of the SENEAM fees.

Cabotage Regulations

The Mexican authorities monitor all flights strictly for any cabotage violations, especially when a foreign aircraft transports Mexican citizens. It’s for this reason that a letter needs to be provided, which needs to detail what the relationship is between the passenger and the organization that owns the aircraft.

Required Permits

In Mexico, it is mandatory for aircrafts to have a landing permit. However, acquiring the permit is an easy process that takes only twenty minutes after landing. Our team can handle all permit requirements to ensure a smooth and flawless journey.

Casablanca FBO

One thought will always resonate with movie fans when they hear the word Casablanca – that beautifully scripted love story starring  Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.

The assumption would be that such a glorious masterpiece would have been filmed in the city it was named after. But, the sad truth is that it was not!

Having said that, there is so much more to the largest city in the Maghreb region than just a poetic love story. The city is filled with 3.3 million people that have helped to develop its intriguing history, influential architecture, lively art scene, mouth-watering farm to table food, souks, and an incredible surfers scene.

Trekking through the populous and bustling Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport [CMN] can make for a hectic and frustrating experience. However, don’t let that thought rattle you and have you reconsidering your trip, especially when there is a beautifully refurbished FBO within the airport that can save you from the queues and the long walk through Morocco’s largest airport.

New Look, New Feel, New Experience

Our Casablanca FBO next to CMN’s Terminal 3 has just been given a facelift because our customers and crew deserve a comfortable experience in a modern space. All our visitors can enjoy our luxurious amenities that include:

  • Multilingual local expertise
  • Luxury VIP lounges
  • Crew lounges
  • In-house flight planning
  • Complete flight documentation package per local requirements
  • Weather briefing and NOTAMs
  • A dedicated area for a smooth process through customs and immigration
  • Ground handling services
  • World-class concierge services including hotel reservations and VIP transportation

The Location Is Unbeatable

The FBO operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is ideal since it is only 22 miles [35 kilometers] away from Casablanca’s downtown area. Exploring Morocco’s beauty is also made easy from this location with Rabat being just an hour’s drive away and Marrakech is a two hour and twenty-minute drive away.

For Your Aircraft

Casablanca’s airport has a 12205-ft [3720 meters] runway that can accommodate various types of aircrafts. Having the FBO in the airport’s terminal means that getting access to aircraft maintenance and servicing on site is possible when a request is put through.

Refueling at this particular location is particularly easy due to the fact that any type of fuel carnet is accepted, and any fuel release can be matched up. It is worth noting that Jet A Fuel is available, but Avgas is not.

Permits

All commercial flights looking to operate in Morocco need to acquire an OVF [overflight] permit and a landing permit. Our dedicated Jetex team can apply for a PPR [Prior Permission Required], which is obligatory for all aircrafts.

Do you need a slot?

No, you do not need a slot because the airport authorities regulate the airport.
