Jetex Operational Insights: April 2017

Abu Dhabi International Airport (OMAA/AUH)

Due to heavy traffic and congestion on the runway, ATC may hold or delay non-scheduled flights to/from Abu Dhabi International Airport during the following periods (local time):

  • 01:00 – 03:00
  • 18:30 – 19:30
  • 21:00 – 22:00

The Civil Aviation Authority may reject your landing application if operating during the above mentioned times. This situation is evaluated on daily basis, and is applicable to charter and general aviation flights.

Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (DNAA/ABV)

Please note the airport will be closed from March 8 – April 19, 2017. This will allow for extensive repairs to the badly potholed runway, and the construction of a new second runway.

Finland API Update

It is now mandatory to file API (Advanced Passenger Information) when operating to/from Finland from/to a non-Schengen state.

The Finnish Border Guard will require API data for all passengers. This should be forwarded to HELIMXH or, preferably no earlier than 24hrs before arrival, but no later than 15 minutes after departure from the airport of origin.

OiLibya Ceases Operations at Two Locations in Tunisia

OiLibya Aviation has announced it will terminate its presence and cease operations in Djerba–Zarzis International (DTTJ/DJE) and Monastir Habib Bourguiba International (DTMB/MIR) airports in Tunisia, as of 1st of April 2017.

Please note that Jetex can still arrange ground handling services and fuel at both locations.

Larnaca International Airport (LCLK/LCA)

There have been frequent reports of laser lights directed at aircraft, mostly from the following areas:

  • On arrivals from NW within 20NM of AD
  • On letdown procedures RWY22

Aircrew should remain vigilant to such events and report them to ATC, passing as much information as possible regarding the source.
