The 92nd Academy Awards will honor the most outstanding films of 2019.

The brightest stars and the biggest names in film making are coming together at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California for one of the most important red-carpet events in the film industry: the 92nd Academy Awards.

Presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), the awards ceremony will honor the most notable and critically acclaimed films of 2019 on February 9, 2020. If you’re planning to fly into Los Angeles for the event, here’s what you need to know for a smooth and easy operation

1. AIRPORT OPTIONS

Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR, KBUR) and Van Nuys Airport (VNY, KVNY) are the closest airport options to the Dolby Theatre, which is located within the Hollywood and Highland Center shopping mall.

Both KBUR and KVNY are about 15 to 20 minutes away from Dolby Theatre by car in good traffic conditions.

San Bernardino International Airport (SBD, KSBD) is another alternate airport if you’re operating to LA. KSBD is about an hour and 30-minute drive to/from the Dolby Theatre.

Jetex has a facility within KSBD, allowing us to provide fast and efficient flight support services to any aircraft.

No limitations or restrictions apply to private flights. Slots and PPR are not required to operate to KBUR, KVNY and KSBD.

2. FUEL

Private aviation traffic may increase during special events. Placing fuel requests in advance is recommended to avoid delays on fuel delivery. To get a fuel quotation, please contact fuelpricing@jetex.com

At KSBD, Jetex’s facility is the first in California to offer self-serve fueling technology, resulting in quick turnarounds.

3. GROUND HANDLING

Ground handling is mandatory in KBUR, KVNY and KSBD. Jetex can provide direct ground handling to any aircraft in KSBD, while we can meet ground handling requirements in KBUR and KVNY through our local handling partners.

4. GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Available ground transportation generally comprises airport shuttles, transfer and authorized taxis. For luxury cars, vans and other VIP transport from KBUR, KVNY or KSBD to Dolby Theatre or to your preferred hotel, get in touch with Jetex.

5. PERMITS

A Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Waiver is required for non-US-registered aircraft that does not meet certain requirements. For aircraft registered from China, Cuba, North Korea, Russia and Sudan, a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Route Authorization Approval is also mandatory.

In addition to the above requirements, aircraft entering the US must have their valid Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Decals, as well as a pre-arranged inbound/outbound Electronic Advance Passenger Information System (eAPIS) if operating to/from international airport.

6. VISA

Non-US citizens and/or non-US permanent residents operating to US need valid US visas prior to arrival. The visa needs to be arranged before arrival in the US.

7. SECURITY

Security is expected to be tightened within and around Dolby Theatre due to the high-profile event. On the other hand, KBUR, KVNY and KSBD airports already implement standard security protocols and are therefore well-secured.

8. HOTELS

A wide selection of two-star to five-star hotels surrounds Dolby Theatre. Some of the most popular options include Four Season Hotels Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, The Ritz-Carlton, The Peninsula, Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills and W Hollywood.

Jetex can easily make arrangements for you at any hotel that suits your needs. Please contact us at travel@jetex.com.
