Next week, more than 100,000 boating enthusiasts from around the globe will descend on Virginia Key for the Miami International Boat Show. Taking place from February 16 to February 20, this exciting annual event offers attendees a chance to explore the latest products and services in the leisure boat industry.

The show returns for a second year to the iconic Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin (having previously been held in Downtown Miami and Miami Beach), and is set to feature more boats, accessories, workshops and attractions than ever before.

Over 1,300 vessels will be on display, both on land at sea. The venue offers more than 550 slips, as well as a deep water basin which can accommodate larger boats. In addition, an extensive exhibition space will focus on the latest marine accessories, electronics, engines, nautical apparel and services.

More than Just Boats

In addition to the boats and products exhibited, a series of special events, family entertainment and activities celebrating the nautical lifestyle will be held around the venue. These include hands-on workshops and seminars designed to help beginners get started in boating. A series of dedicated arenas will also host events related to sport fishing, sailing and other specialist areas.

The show is conveniently located close to the heart of Miami, less than eight kilometers from downtown. Visitors can explore the city’s famous restaurant and nightlife scene, and enjoy all this vibrant destination has to offer.

Flying to Miami

Miami International Airport (IATA: MIA, ICAO: KMIA) is the main international airport serving the Miami area. KMIA is one of America’s busiest airports, having catered to over 21 million passengers in 2016. It handles general aviation flights and functions as an Airport of Entry (AoE). Customs and immigration staff are available on-site, from 07:00 to 01:00 local time. Prior Permission Required (PPR), slots and landing permits are not needed. KMIA offers full ground handling services for all types of aircraft, as well as passenger and crew lounges. There are no parking restrictions at the airport, and long-term parking can be arranged upon request.

Miami International Airport is located just 16km from the Marine Stadium Park and Basin. Please note however that heavy traffic can be expected during this popular event. Be sure to allow additional time for your journey, as roads are likely to be congested.
