F1 Grand Prix Abu Dhabi

9-12 December 2021

The Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is returning and is set to see out another magnificent Formula One season out in style. The annual car-racing extravaganza in Abu Dhabi will bring together a range of fun activities ranging from exclusive rooftop parties, concerts plus art and sporting events. More than 60,000 racing enthusiasts are expected to flock to the capital of the United Arab Emirates grand prix.

Yas Marina Circuit Changes

After complaints last year about the venue not delivering enough of a spectacle for F1, circuit bosses gave the green light for a major overhaul of the layout. Following months of work, the raft of tweaks in three areas of the track have now been completed and resulted in the track being slightly shorter at 5.28km.

The biggest tweak is at the newly renamed Marsa corner at the end of the second backstraight, where a sequence of 90-degree bends have been replaced by a single banked turn. Simulations suggest cars will take this at 240km/h.

The hairpin before the first back straight has also been changed, with the chicane before it removed and the tight turn itself widened to a 20-meter wide corner. It is expected that cars will be approaching this hairpin at 300km/h.

Yas Marina Circuit is already one of the most modern and impressive Formula 1 tracks in the world, and these enhancements will ensure spectators in attendance will see a wealth of entertainment across all motorsports disciplines moving forward, as well as providing exhilarating racing for those on the track.

Full Capacity Event

Abu Dhabi’s Formula 1 GP to be held at full capacity. Those who attend will be required to present a Green Pass through the Al Hosn app, a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours and wear a mask to enter the venue. Children under the age of 12 will also be permitted to attend events during the race week.

Etihad Park

Concerts

US pop star Khalid will begin the proceedings on Thursday, 9 December, and British rapper Stormzy will perform the following night on Friday, 10 December.

On Saturday, 11 December, Scot Lewis Capaldi, winner of two Brit Awards, will bring his soulful sound to Etihad Park.

The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2021 will end on an epic rock note with Foo Fighters headlining the race day concert at Etihad Park on Sunday, 12 December.

JetClub and Jetex

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 14, 2021 – Jetex, an award-winning global leader in executive aviation, has announced a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) with JetClub, a fractional ownership-based business aviation brand. The MOU signing ceremony between Adel Mardini, Founder & CEO of Jetex, and Vishal Hiremath, Founder & CEO of JetClub, took place at Jetex VIP Terminal ahead of the Dubai Airshow 2021.

“Jetex is pleased to partner with JetClub and we see this as a natural evolution of our service offering. Within the current context, as we emerge from the health crisis and see a recovery in the global economy, I believe that the two companies are in an excellent position to continue to grow and further strengthen our lead in the global aviation market. Both JetClub and Jetex are leaders in innovation as they offer a new way for more consumers to access private aviation and enjoy its benefits. We are confident of the value Jetex can add to JetClub’s discerning fractional aircraft owners and passengers”, said Adel Mardini, Founder & CEO of Jetex.

“After successfully starting operations in Europe, we are exploring the Middle East market as our next strategic opportunity. Business and leisure travel has resumed, and private aviation is a fast, hygienic, safe, efficient option. Our agreement with Jetex allows us to explore the market, gain feedback from clients and expand our service offering, ensuring our clients have the best possible experience around the world. Our goal is to allow our clients in the United States, Europe or Asia to be able to have access to a worldwide fleet”, said Vishal Hiremath, Founder and CEO, JetClub Group.

Fractional ownership has made private jet travel accessible to new consumers for the first time, making the business model attractive, globally. JetClub and its sister company, Jet It, now operate a fleet of 14 HondaJet aircraft, making the group the largest HondaJet operator in the world.

JetClub’s HondaJet will be on display at the Dubai Airshow 2021 and at the Jetex VIP Terminal. The HondaJet is one of the lightest, quietest, and most fuel-efficient jet in its category, burning four times less fuel than a larger aircraft. With 70% of the group’s flights being less than three hours in duration with less than four passengers, it is a more sustainable, economical, hygienic, safe and convenient way to fly.

JetClub is based upon a fractional ownership model in which club members purchase a share of the jet in return for a certain number of days and not hours, which is a unique innovation in this space. JetClub and Jetex aim to make business aviation more accessible at a lower cost with exceptional service and a relentless priority on safety and efficient operations.

Jetex is committed to ambitious emissions reduction goals set by The International Air Transport Association (IATA). The company is at the forefront of the shift towards a lower carbon aviation industry as it is now offering  Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel™ at Helsinki Airport.

Jetex, an award-winning global leader in executive aviation, continues to offer more ways of reducing carbon emissions of travel. Earlier this year, the company began offering Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) produced at Jetex Le Bourget, Paris, and has now expanded the service to Helsinki Airport in partnership with Neste, the world’s leading producer of Sustainable Aviation Fuel.

Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel, in neat form and over the life cycle, reduces GHG emissions up to 80% compared to fossil jet fuel*. The SAF offered by Jetex at Helsinki Airport is currently made from waste and residue raw materials. The fuel provides an immediate solution for reducing the direct carbon emissions of flying.

“At Jetex, we want to help decarbonize the aviation industry and we will continue to collaborate with industry stakeholders to explore viable options to help scale up sustainable aviation fuel more broadly. We are pleased with our partnership with Neste that helps us bring SAF to our customers at Finland’s busiest airport”, said Sufiyan Asif, Director of Fuel, Jetex.

Jetex acknowledges its responsibility to reduce the carbon impact of aviation on the planet and supports the vision of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, including the improvement of its operational efficiency and investment into the development of a global SAF fuel network. It continues to form partnerships with a number of technology and fuel companies to make SAF available at more locations around the world.

As air travel is resuming again, it is more urgent than ever for the aviation industry to start minimizing its climate impact,” says Jonathan Wood, Vice President Renewable Aviation Europe at Neste. “Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel enables Airlines and Business Aviation operators to significantly reduce carbon emissions. This new agreement with our partner Jetex is another step in encouraging increased usage of SAF, and we look forward to working with Jetex to further expanding the network of locations where SAF is available.”

Progressing the development and commercial deployment of SAF is crucial to decarbonizing the aviation industry. According to IATA, more than 100 million liters of SAF will be produced in 2021. It is vital for the future of aviation to continue to address climate change and Jetex remains focused on playing its part to reduce the impact on the planet.
