Monaco Heliport (IATA: MCM, ICAO: LNMC) is the only aviation facility within the Principality of Monaco. The state does not have an airport of its own, with the nearest available being located 5.9km southwest in the French city of Nice.

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (IATA: NCE, ICAO: LFMN) is the third busiest airport in France. Due to its close proximity, LFMN serves as a gateway to Monaco, with regular helicopter shuttle services. Monaco Heliport can be reached by helicopter from Nice Airport in just seven minutes. Nice Airport caters to General Aviation (GA) and functions as an Airport of Entry (AoE), with customs and immigration available on-site 24/7. Prior Permission Required (PPR) is mandatory for all arrivals and departures. Airport slots also need to be booked in advance. Once slots and PPR numbers have been obtained, aircraft parking can then be secured. Long-term parking is available, with no restrictions on the size of aircraft during the winter season. LFMN is fully equipped for ground handling, and can provide services for all aircraft types. An executive lounge is available for passengers and crew at the GA terminal.

Cannes-Mandelieu Airport (IATA: CEQ, ICAO: LFMD) is located approximately 60km from the Principality of Monaco. LFMD caters to GA, and serves as an AoE. The airport is open seven days a week. Operating times are from 08:00 to 20:00 local time during winter, and from 08:00 until 30 minutes after sunset during summer. Slot bookings, PPR, and parking permits are mandatory only in May, during the Cannes Film Festival and Monaco Grand Prix. There are no restrictions on long-term parking. LFMD is fully equipped for all ground handling services, and offers two VIP lounges, a crew lounge and snooze room. Operators will be asked to provide GenDec and passenger manifests for all flights. Flight arrangements can be made at any time, however it is advisable to book in advance, particularly during peak periods.

Geneva

EBACE 2022

Business leaders, manufacturers, government officials and business aviation professionals will soon gather at Geneva’s Palexpo for European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) on 23-25 May 2022. For all private aviation professionals, it’s the perfect event to learn about the latest advances in private aviation.

The leading European event exclusively for the business aviation market, EBACE is jointly hosted by the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) – the leading organization for the business aviation industry in the United States. Although the event focuses on the European market, attendees travel from Africa, the Middle East, Asia and North and South America.

Visit Jetex at EBACE

Jetex has been a major part of EBACE for many years and we invite you to be the first to discover our latest news and announcements at the event.

EBACE Location and Venue

Palexpo is Geneva’s biggest exhibition and convention center, conveniently located adjacent to both Geneva International Airport and the city’s rail station. The venue is also easily accessible by motorway from the rest of Switzerland, as well as from France, Germany, and Italy. On-site parking is available for 2,800 vehicles.

EBACE2022 Program Schedule

As well as the many exhibits and static aircraft displays, attendees can join a variety of Keynote speeches, panelist discussions and networking events throughout the event. You can find out more about the program and timings at the schedule here.

Flying to Geneva

Geneva Airport (IATA: GVA, ICAO: LSGG) is the main international airport serving Geneva. LSGG functions as an Airport of Entry (AoE) and offers a full range of General Aviation (GA) support services and ground handling equipment for business aircraft. The airport operates from 06:00 – 22:00 local time, seven days a week. No overtime is possible and all arrivals must be on the ground by 22:00, otherwise, they face being diverted to another airport. Departures must be in the air by 21:45 at the latest. The airport is usually busy throughout the day. As there is only one runway, delays can sometimes occur due to inclement weather. However, this should not be an issue during the month of May, when conditions are generally favorable.

During EBACE, some of the parking areas normally used by general aviation will be restricted due to the static aircraft display. As a result, overnight parking may be limited during the event period.

Alternate Airports

Alternate airports which can be used for repositioning include Lyon–Saint Exupéry Airport (IATA: LYS, ICAO: LFLL)Zürich Airport (IATA: ZRH, ICAO: LSZH) and Basel Mulhouse Freiburg (IATA: MLH, ICAO: LFSB). All function as AoEs and offer a full complement of GA support services. However, due to their relatively long distances from the EBACE venue (140km, 280km, and 255km respectively), Geneva Airport remains the best available option. In order to guarantee your spot, it is recommended to ensure that all permits, slots, and permissions are arranged well in advance.

Landing permits for Switzerland

Swiss landing permits are mandatory only for charter (non-scheduled commercial) flights. Private non-revenue flights do not require landing permits. Documents which need to be submitted with the permit application include the plane’s airworthiness and registration certificates, air operator certificate (AOC), and insurance details. The official lead time is five working days, although permits are usually processed within two or three days.

Airport Slots & PPR

Slots are issued in 19-minute blocks, with all timings strictly enforced. Once the request has been approved, a confirmation number will be provided which should be entered in the remarks section of the flight plan. Prior Permission Required (PPR) is not usually required at LSGG, however, due to heavy traffic must be obtained during the EBACE period and other business conventions.

Fuel Uplift

VAT is applied on fuel sales in Switzerland. Enroll in our VAT exemption program today and experience the benefits of VAT-free fuel service. For further details, please contact vat@jetex.com.

Customs & Immigration

Customs and immigration are cleared within the general aviation terminal at LSGG and is usually a fast and straightforward process. Passports of passengers and crew must have a remaining validity of at least six months. Visas may be required, depending on nationality. There are no visas on arrival in Switzerland, so they must be arranged prior to departure.

Hotels

Hotels in Geneva charge premium rates with stricter cancellation policies during EBACE, with four-star accommodation starting from CHF 300 per night. Contact our travel team today to discuss your EBACE hotel requirements.

Doha Skyline

Every four years, the FIFA World Cup captivates an estimated 3.5 billion fans worldwide. Home to 2.8 million people, Qatar more than a million visitors for the event this November. As Qatar prepares to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, we look forward to offering you a seamless private jet access to Doha.

World Cup Dates

For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, football fans will experience the world’s best teams coming together to compete to be the champions under the winter sun as the event will take place from 21 November to 18 December 2022.

Doha, Qatar

Overlooking the warm turquoise waters of the Arabian Gulf, Qatar is renowned for its pristine sandy beaches, towering skyline and extensive art collections. Fans will discover a country of contrasts – dynamic and breathtaking adventures juxtaposed by tradition and culture. From experiencing Qatar’s vast desert landscapes and giant sand dunes on thrilling desert adventures to exploring the vibrant Souq Waqif with its array of shops and eclectic mix of restaurants, fans will discover how much Qatar has to offer.

The eight stadiums that will host the matches are in and around Doha, with the farthest located 60km away from the city center.

Travel Advice

Qatar is the smallest country to ever host a World Cup, which means the amount of accommodation and travel will be limited within the country itself. Therefore, tour operators are starting to look for alternative options outside of the country. The most popular overseas base destinations are Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Manama and Muscat, due to their location and also as standout holiday spots in their own right.

Whether you are traveling on your own or as a group, it might be wise to consider booking a charter flight. These can be cost-effective and convenient because you can travel at a time that suits you without the restrictions of a scheduled flight. This option also allows you to skip lengthy commercial airport procedures and travel to a match and back on the same day without the need for booking accommodation in Doha.

Contact Jetex Premier Experience to plan your travel to Doha to attend the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Dubai World Cup

The Dubai World Cup, is an annual event which has helped to place the United Arab Emirates on the map and is home to the world’s top racing challenge, drawing the attention of millions of enthusiasts around the globe.

Dubai World Cup Poster

The race was first held in 1996, at the original venue of Nad Al Sheba Racecourse. It is a Group One flat race on dirt, run over a distance of 2,000 meters (around 10 furlongs). The current record time of 1:59.50 is held by legendary jockey Frankie Dettori, who rode Dubai Millennium to victory in the year 2000. The event transferred to its current home, Meydan Racecourse, in 2010.

The Dubai World Cup sees top-calibre horses from all over the world – America, Europe, Australia, South Africa, Hong Kong and Japan. There are nine Group races throughout the day, including six at the elite Group 1 level, with the main event – the $12 million namesake Dubai World Cup sponsored by Emirates airline. There are no bookmakers, but you can enter free competitions to predict the winners for the chance to win cash prizes.

It is much more than a single race day, though. The Dubai World Cup Carnival is a lead up to the Dubai World Cup that features nine race meetings with horses from around the world. It’s held on consecutive Thursday evenings throughout January and February, followed by Super Saturday on the second weekend in March, which is the “dress rehearsal” for the Dubai World Cup where the best horses compete for the berths. The UAE racing season – and thus the racing action in Dubai – kicks off in late October and finishes in mid-April. So, even if you are not in town for the big day, you can still catch some top racing action.

Exceptional Venue

An occasion as momentous as the Dubai World Cup requires a befitting home, however, which is most certainly the case at the state-of-the-art Meydan Racecourse. Building upon the 14-year legacy begun by Nad Al Sheba Racecourse, which gave way to the new and improved Meydan Racecourse in 2010. Revealing an ultramodern grandstand that sits beneath the iconic crescent roof, accompanied inside by a stellar selection of fine-dining establishments, a theatre and the Meydan Museum and Gallery – which only begins to describe the many elements of this architectural feat.

As such, the purpose-built stadium serves as a lasting tribute to the elegance associated with the Dubai World Cup and the ever-evolving marvels of the city beyond. But of course, at the heart of Meydan Racecourse is the racing itself, which can be admired in all manner of ways while catering for all varieties of budgets. Inviting you to catch the action from the main social hubs of Apron Views or The Gallery. Gradually increasing in exclusivity to the high-end hospitality experiences which await within the Grandstand Suites, Cigar Suite, Sky Bubble and The Lounge – each revealing unrivalled offerings of wining, dining and socializing, along with the best views to watch the Dubai World Cup.

Fashion & Etiquette

Such is the sense of occasion at the Dubai World Cup, you may also want to look the part – with fashion as integral to the day as the racing itself. Encouraging both men and women to flaunt their style, flair and creativity as you swap shorts for suits and ditch skirts in favors of elegant gowns. Culminating with the Style Stakes: where the best-dressed racegoers will be hand-picked by a panel of judges and suitably rewarded for their style, elegance, creativity and all-round outfit-picking prowess.

When deciding upon an outfit, however, you may also want to consider the etiquette of the occasion. So think class, sophistication and head-to-toe style, complete of course with a showstopping hat or fascinator. But you will also want to dress practically, taking into consideration the warm weather and the likelihood that you will be stood on your feet for long periods of time. But all in all, a day at the Dubai World Cup is one that lingers long in the memory – and will likely leave you counting down the days until you can do it all over again.

More than Just a Race

After the drama of the Dubai World Cup has run its course and the year’s victor has been crowned, get set to dance, dine and carouse your way into the early hours at the event’s official after party. Revealing an elegant evening of fine dining and socialising, set to the sound of some of the world’s most famous musicians and escorted by the extravagance that can be expected from any social occasion in Dubai.

Should you not be able to attend the Dubai World Cup or are simply in search of some more racing action, however, you’ll be pleased to know that there are many ways in which you can experience a day at the races in Dubai. As Meydan Racecourse hosts 23 meetings between the months of November and March, starring the world-renowned races of the Dubai World Cup Carnival and Super Saturday – the official dress rehearsal of the Dubai World Cup.

But of course, beyond the racing, no end of enjoyment can be found among the city’s astonishing sights on a holiday in Dubai. Beckoning you to bask upon soft white sands, scale the heights of the world’s tallest building, or shop until you drop in the planet’s biggest mall. Served alongside the rich offerings of culture that thrive within a stellar selection of museums, galleries and the fragrant spice markets of the alluring Old Town.

Airport Options

Two international airports are available for General Aviation (GA) in Dubai. These are Dubai International Airport (IATA: DXB, ICAO: OMDB), and Al Maktoum International Airport (IATA: DWC, ICAO: OMDW).

Dubai International Airport is currently the world’s busiest airport by international passenger traffic, and is primarily dedicated to scheduled commercial flights (serving as the home base for Emirates Airlines and flydubai). OMDB is located 20km northeast of Meydan Racecourse, while OMDW is approximately 52km south west from the venue. Please note that the roads leading to OMDB are often affected by traffic congestion, particularly during peak times. OMDW does not face this issue.

OMDB and OMDW offer 24-hour Airport of Entry (AoE) with customs and immigration available on-site, and are fully equipped to support GA flights. Airport slots are required for both airports, and parking needs to be booked in advance. Long-term parking availability will depend on the type of aircraft.

Helicopter transfers are possible only from OMDW.

Fashion Week is an entire week, sometimes ten days, dedicated to fashion. That is, it is a time for fashion designers, fashion labels and big luxury fashion houses to present their latest collections and receive praise for their hard work.

Fashion Week takes place over a month called “Fashion Month” in four major cities called the Big Four: New York, Milan, London and Paris. Keep in mind that other cities such as Berlin, Moscow or Stockholm also hold their own fashion weeks that are usually characterized by lesser shows and last only a few days.

There are three kinds of Fashion weeks: Haute Couture (which stands for high-end handmade tailored dressmaking) – Prét-à-Porter (Ready-to-Wear) and Menswear.
