Paris Le Bourget [LBG, LFPB]

Paris Le Bourget Airport is a dedicated general aviation airport located about 11.1 miles (18 kilometers) from the city center, making it easy for passengers and crew to access the capital.

Paris Charles de Gaulle [CDG, LFPG]

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is the biggest international airport in France and the second busiest airport in Europe, with facilities for General Aviation operations.

Paris Orly [ORY, LFPO]

Paris Orly Airport is the second major international airport in Paris, but the busiest airport in France for domestic traffic. LFPO allows general aviation operations, but slots are required and parking is limited to 24 hours due to airport congestion. Located 9.3 miles (15 kilometers) from the city center, LFPO can be accessed by freeways, buses and train.

Pontoise Cormeille-en-Vexin [POX, LFPT]

Pontoise Cormeille-en-Vexin Aerodrome is an airport situated 4.3 miles (7 kilometers) away from Pontoise and 24 miles (40 kilometers) from Paris. LFPT supports different aviation activities, including business and general aviation, with a 24/7 operations team available.

LFPT is only open to Schengen flights with aircraft with maximum take-off weight below 17T. The latter restriction can be waived thanks to a derogation from the French CAA.

 

FUEL AND GROUND HANDLING

Handling is mandatory in LFPB, LFPG, LFPO and LFPT. Jetex provides ground handling to any aircraft in all of these airports. To avoid delays on fuel delivery, we recommend sending a request in advance. Contact fuel@jetex.com for premium fuel at competitive rates.

Permits

Overflight and landing permits are required for non-Schengen operators planning to operate to France. Private operators with non-commercial flights are exempted from these requirements. The permits can be obtained within a lead time of four business days. Jetex can arrange permits on your behalf, if needed.

The French Civil Aviation Authority (Direction Générale de L’aviation Civile, DGAC) is open from Monday to Friday, 0900 to 1800 LT. Outside the operating hours, permits are only issued for urgent flights, including medevac.

Once an application for permit is approved, a confirmation will be sent. However, it is not mandatory to include the confirmation in your flight plan.

Customs and Immigration

As instructed by the French Government, operators must submit a complete General Declaration (GENDEC) – including places of birth – before flying to France.

Visa

The type of visa required depends on the duration and purpose of stay in France. For information on Schengen visas and entry requirements to France, please refer to this link.

From May 19th to 21st, 2023, the international community will convene in Hiroshima, Japan, for the G7 Summit. If you are planning to attending the summit and desire an efficient mode of transportation, flying to Hiroshima by business jet is the optimal choice.

Visa

Visa requirements may vary depending on nationality and duration of stay. Find out if you need a visa here. As a government official attending the G7 Summit, you may be eligible for special diplomatic or official visas. Coordinate with your country’s embassy or consulate in Japan to understand the visa requirements and process for government officials attending the summit.

Airports

Hiroshima Airport (HIJ/RJOA)

The primary airport serving Hiroshima is Hiroshima Airport, located approximately 50 kilometers east of the city center and takes 55 minutes travel time from central Hiroshima.

There are restrictions between 17 to 23 May, 2023. RJOA is closed except for government state/chartered flights arranged through diplomatic channels.

RJOA operating hours run from 07:30 to 22:30 LT. Slots are required for all arrivals and departures. No PPR is required.

Kansai International Airport (KIX/RJBB)

The approximate distance between Kansai International Airport (RJBB) and central Hiroshima city is 375 kilometers (233 miles) by road or rail. If you choose to travel by the Shinkansen bullet train, the journey time from Hiroshima Station to Shin-Osaka Station, the nearest Shinkansen station to Kansai International Airport, is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

RJBB operates around the clock, offering continuous service with 24/7 customs, immigration, and quarantine (CIQ) facilities. Slots are required for arrival and departure. Slot tolerance at RJBB is between 00-59 of each hour. No PPR is required.

Between 17 and 24 May 2023, due to overnight parking arrangements for government state/chartered flights at RJBB:

• The potential for general aviation (GA) operations at RJBB during this period will be confirmed closer to the start date, allowing for timely planning.
• Based on parking availability, there may be occasional relocations of aircraft to different parking positions.

EBACE Location and Venue

Palexpo is Geneva’s biggest exhibition and convention center, conveniently located adjacent to both Geneva International Airport and the city’s rail station. The venue is also easily accessible by motorway from the rest of Switzerland, as well as from France, Germany, and Italy. On-site parking is available for 2,800 vehicles.

EBACE2023 Program Schedule

Flying to Geneva

Geneva Airport (IATA: GVA, ICAO: LSGG) is the main international airport serving Geneva. LSGG functions as an Airport of Entry (AoE) and offers a full range of General Aviation (GA) support services and ground handling equipment for business aircraft. The airport operates from 04:00 – 00:00 local time, seven days a week. Take offs and landings of non-commercial flights are allowed at Geneva Airport between 06:00 and 22:00. The airport is usually busy throughout the day. As there is only one runway, delays can sometimes occur due to inclement weather. However, this should not be an issue during the month of May, when conditions are generally favourable.

During EBACE, some of the parking areas normally used by general aviation will be restricted due to the static aircraft display. As a result, overnight parking may be limited during the event period.

Alternative Airports

Alternate airports which can be used for repositioning include Lyon–Saint Exupéry Airport (IATA: LYS, ICAO: LFLL), Zürich Airport (IATA: ZRH, ICAO: LSZH) and Basel Mulhouse Freiburg (IATA: MLH, ICAO: LFSB). All function as AoEs and offer a full complement of GA support services. However, due to their relatively long distances from the EBACE venue (140km, 280km, and 255km respectively), Geneva Airport remains the best available option. In order to guarantee your spot, it is recommended to ensure that all permits, slots, and permissions are arranged well in advance.

Landing permits for Switzerland

Swiss landing permits are mandatory only for charter (non-scheduled commercial) flights. Private non-revenue flights do not require landing permits. Documents which need to be submitted with the permit application include the plane’s airworthiness and registration certificates, air operator certificate (AOC), and insurance details. The official lead time is five working days, although permits are usually processed within two or three days.

Airport Slots & PPR

Slots are issued in 19-minute blocks, with all timings strictly enforced. Once the request has been approved, a confirmation number will be provided which should be entered in the remarks section of the flight plan. Prior Permission Required (PPR) is not usually required at LSGG, however, due to heavy traffic must be obtained during the EBACE period and other business conventions.

Customs & Immigration

Customs and immigration are cleared within the general aviation terminal at LSGG and is usually a fast and straightforward process. Passports of passengers and crew must have a remaining validity of at least six months. Visas may be required, depending on nationality. There are no visas on arrival in Switzerland, so they must be arranged prior to departure.

After winning the Dubai World Cup four times, Italian jockey Dettori now joins Bailey as joint winningmost jockey of the race.

An impressive prize of USD 30.5 million is divided across the nine races on World Cup Day, with the big race offering a purse of USD 12 million, making it one of the richest days of horseracing in the world.
