Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix 2018

The Formula 1 race is quickly accelerating towards the UAE’s capital for the highest class, single-seater auto race in the world. Who will be the ultimate racing champion? Will Lewis Hamilton be able to score a third consecutive Abu Dhabi triumph?

The 2020 Formula One Championship wraps up at the beginning of December this year at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix marks the last finish line to be crossed in the series of seventeen global, speedy races.

Formula 1, The UAE’s Loudest Sporting Event

The Yas Marina Circuit track is patiently waiting. Twenty-one racers and their cars are waiting to hit the pedal and whizz past their audiences on that glorious race day.

The circuit is on Yas Island which is on the outskirts of the capital city, which is just over a half hour drive away. This race will be the venue’s ninth consecutive Formula One event. Motorsports fans from all around the world will get the opportunity to take in the spectacular sight and revs of twenty cars accelerating past them as the twenty drivers rush to complete 55 laps around the 5.554 KM track.

The race course designer is a renowned German Engineer, Herman Tike. Drivers can expect to test their skills as they shoot past the 21 challenging corners and pass through Yas Marina Island, desert dunes, then through the Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi Hotel grounds.

This Grand Prix takes place as the sun sets over the race course, the perfect time to avoid the desert sun’s heat. So, not only do fans get to watch their favorite drivers own the circuit, but they also get to see this momentous event take place as the sky turns from orange to purple with a hint of yellow, before turning to the night sky with headlights lighting the track.

Will Britain’s Lewis Hamilton take home the win again this year, or will he make way for a new driver to take the title of champion? Find out more about the drivers and their tallied points on the official Formula One website.
