Next week, boating enthusiasts from around the world will set sail for the 25th anniversary edition of the Dubai International Boat Show. Held annually at Dubai International Marine Club, this five-day event is the region’s biggest and best maritime leisure exhibition.

Dubai International Boat Show
Over 450 of the finest super yachts and leisure craft from across the globe will be on display, as well as the latest nautical accessories and apparel. Attendees will have the opportunity to try out equipment, enjoy free fishing and sailing trips, and enhance their boating skills with guidance from qualified professionals.

Water sports fans can take to the waves for a series of windsurfing, kayaking and paddle boarding sessions. In addition to the main exhibition, a variety of live shows, marine talks and exciting giveaways will keep visitors of all ages entertained.

Major waterfront projects in Dubai are turning the UAE into a popular marine leisure destination, and helping to drive superyacht and boat sales across the Middle East. Last year’s show attracted more than 39,000 international and local visitors, including key buyers from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The Dubai International Boat Show takes place from February 28 to March 4, and is a must-attend event for anyone with an interest in leisure boating. To view the complete schedule and list of exhibitors, please visit www.boatshowdubai.com.

Airport Options

There are two international airports available for General Aviation (GA) in Dubai. These are Dubai International Airport (IATA: DXB, ICAO: OMDB), and Al Maktoum International Airport (IATA: DWC, ICAO: OMDW).

Dubai International Airport has been ranked as the world’s busiest airport by international passenger traffic, and is primarily dedicated to scheduled commercial flights (serving as the home base for both Emirates Airlines and flydubai). It is located around 35km northeast of Dubai International Marine Club. Al Maktoum International Airport is approximately the same distance from the venue, however is located to the south of the city. One of the main benefits of arriving to OMDW is that travelers can avoid the traffic congestion which affects the route from OMDB.

OMDB and OMDW offer 24-hour Airport of Entry (AoE) with customs and immigration available on-site, and are fully equipped to support GA flights. Both require airport slots and parking to be booked in advance. Long-term parking availability will depend on the aircraft type. Helicopter transfers are available only from OMDW. Please note that OMDW airport runways are closed every Monday from 20:00 until 20:45 UTC, therefore no arrivals and departures can take place during this period.
