NBAA - SDC2017

The NBAA Schedulers and Dispatchers Conference (SDC2017) will be held next week at Fort Worth Convention Center in Texas. Taking place over four days from February 7 to February 10, this annual gathering is the business aviation industry’s premier professional development event for schedulers and dispatchers.

The SDC2017 agenda aims to bring attendees up-to-date on the latest essential operational information, while developing improved communication skills and a stronger understanding of team dynamics. The conference offers education sessions, peer-to-peer networking with more than 2,800 industry professionals, and an exhibit hall where over 500 vendors and suppliers will be showcasing their products and services. The exhibit hall will be open until Thursday, with the final day focusing purely on education.

The sessions are designed to cover a wide variety of topics relating to the roles of scheduling and dispatch. Industry experts will be discussing the knowledge and skills required for a successful career in this dynamic work environment.

Flying to Fort Worth

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (IATA: DFW, ICAO: KDFW) is the primary international airport serving the Dallas and Fort Worth areas. KDFW is an Airport of Entry (AoE), and open 24 hours a day. Note however that customs and immigration are only available from 06:00 to 21:00 local time, Monday to Friday. Arrivals can be prearranged outside of these times by calling +1 (972) 456 2201, however a call-out fee will apply. PPR and slot bookings are not necessary. A full range of ground handling services are available, as well as passenger and crew lounges. Bookings for aircraft parking are not mandatory, however 24 hours’ notice is preferred. There is no time limit on parking, and fees will be applied on a daily basis (non-negotiable). Fort Worth Convention Center is located 40km southwest of KDFW. The venue can usually be reached in around 45 minutes by car, however rush hour traffic can sometimes result in delays. Helicopter transfers can be arranged on request.

Conference attendees can also choose to arrive via Fort Worth Meacham International Airport (IATA: FTW, ICAO: KFTW). KFTW is open 24 hours, however customs and immigration are not always available. For flights arriving outside of normal working hours, arrangements should be made at least two days prior to arrival. PPR and slot bookings are not required. The airport is fully equipped for ground handling services. Passenger and crew lounges are available. Long-term aircraft parking is possible, subject to availability. KFTW is located 10km from Fort Worth Convention Center, around 15 minutes by car. Helicopter transfers are also available.
