Jetex Opens its Biggest FBO in Dubai

Dubai is well known as the home of the world’s tallest building, largest shopping mall and most opulent hotels. This cosmopolitan city has cultivated a reputation as a premium destination, associated with the highest standards of luxury.

Now, there is a VIP terminal to match. Jetex’s new FBO in Dubai promises a flight experience like no other.

This unique facility combines the highest standards of hospitality with state-of-the-art infrastructure, and has the distinction of being the first IS-BAH certified FBO in Dubai. IS-BAH accreditation is the gold standard of industry best practice for business aviation, and represents a guarantee of world-class service.

The terminal is located at Dubai South Aviation District, which is set to become the gateway to Expo 2020. Major development is taking place in the surrounding areas, as preparations for this landmark event continue apace.

Jetex operates from two sections within the terminal, which will cater specifically to high-level private, business and government VIP clients. With a combined area of over 1,500m2, the new FBO features the company’s largest lounge in the world.

An FBO Like No Other

Several unique touches make this a one-of-a-kind facility. These include a fleet of Rolls-Royces, standing by to transfer passengers to and from their aircraft. Jetex is the first company in the world to use these vehicles exclusively for an airport shuttle service, setting a new benchmark for luxury travel and ensuring clients arrive in comfort and style.

Airside arrangements are handled by Jetex’s expert staff, which delivers a full range of ground support, fueling, baggage handling and security services. The terminal offers 50,000m2 of ramp parking space. A new 5,000m2 hangar facility is currently under construction, and will be available for aircraft storage and maintenance in 2017.

The terminal itself has been designed to provide the fastest and most efficient path from the runway to the client’s onward destination. Upon arrival, passengers and crew will be escorted to the comfortable lounge area, where they can relax while their paperwork is processed. Police, immigration and customs officers are based on-site to take care of all necessary formalities. It is anticipated that the entire process should take less than five minutes.

Visitors may wish to linger a little longer however, in order to appreciate the exceptional hospitality on offer. The bright and spacious lounges boast an array of plush seating areas, and offer a wide selection of first-class amenities, including dedicated passenger and crew lounges, shower facilities and a lavish cigar lounge.

Travelers can browse an exclusive range of premium branded goods at Dubai Duty Free’s boutique outlet. A variety of high-end perfumes and cosmetics are on offer, together with the latest technology items, the finest in beverages and a wide selection of tobacco products. The main atrium also houses a flexible exhibition space, which can be utilized for cultural displays or as a platform for brands to showcase their products.

Beyond the airport, Jetex offers a comprehensive range of bespoke concierge services. Friendly staff are on hand to assist with arranging hotel accommodation, restaurant bookings, security services and VIP transportation, including air transfers to major locations in the Emirates.

Experience the FBO of the Future, Today

The official opening ceremony for the new Jetex FBO took place on December 6, during the MEBAA Show 2016. Jetex was also appointed as official FBO and handler for the show, a prestigious title and one which reflects the high standard of services enjoyed by the company’s clientele.

With Expo 2020 on the horizon, air traffic to Dubai is set to increase significantly. Dubai South Aviation District is expected to handle more than 10,000 business flights in 2017, with this number projected to rise to 140,000 by 2020 (Altitudes Arabia Magazine, June/July 2016 Edition).  The new Jetex FBO terminal is well placed to capitalize on this increasing demand. This iconic facility brings upscale contemporary interior design and 5-star hospitality to the business aviation arena, shattering expectations of a traditional FBO and further enhancing the company’s reputation as a global innovator.
